Customied dropdown searching from brochure pages

Hi everyone,

I am about to start building a new site for a client and the designs given to me are from an external designer. One of the features that we would like to propose is searching the catalogue via drop down options ie. by brand by price etc. (NOT by Section /Sub Section as stated in the Advanced User Guide)

I have seen a couple of sites that do something similar. toys-express is one of them. Its seems that the brand search uses javascript to populate the drop down and then submit the results to the actinic search page.

MY question is does anybody know a good resource or comunity string to help with this problem? I look forward to anyones response.

It looks like they have coded it themselves, check out the source of that page, and you should see how they have done it. You could adapted it to your site.
