    Search error

We are not eligible for free support for the following problem, but I thought I might run it by the other users.

Can you tell me which document controls this page?

    http://www.uniformcorner.com/cgi-bin...com%2Facatalog

The problem is that when you are on this type of search result page and then use the simple search at top, it leads you to an old directory of our site that no longer exists, therefore the search doesn't work.

I have checked Act_Primary & Search.html and it does not show this directory (/~uniformc/)

Can you help without having to see a snapshot? I can do all the changes once I know what to look for.

    Thanks!

    Christy

Do a windows explorer search for ACTINIC_REFERRER in your site1 directory. The results should all be perl scripts. If you get a template name returned as one of the search results, then that is where to look for a hard coding.

Before you do that, you may want to check the calalog url listed in Advanced | Network Settings.

      Hi there

Yes do what Bill has written, please check the "Catalog URL" in "Advance | Network Setup", as the ACTINIC_REFERRER uses this to find the images when running a cgi script.

        Hi Bill & Nadeem,

I've done everything listed- there was no template file as a result in my search, also the catalog url was set up properly in my advanced settings.

Problem still exists, what do you think I should do now?

        Thanks!

Do a windows search for uniformc/ as a word or phrase in the file - let's see what that gets us.

            Bill,

Did a search as for a "phrase in file" for everything in my entire Actinic director for that term but nothing came back.

Am at a complete loss on this one. Should I wipe out ALL the files on our server and reupload? I feel like it is drawing from an old document that isn't getting replaced even after I totally refresh the site.

              Check Design|options|layout

The search feature uses the same template as checkout pages.

although if you use Act_primary-checkout it doesn't include the simple search.

              this may help!!

                Jo,

I made sure that everything was set the same in Options | Layout and refreshed. Everything is locked in at Centered Primary Template (which opens up my current Act_Primary that I have double checked repeatedly for that /~uniformc/ or a variant of).

Still after refresh no such luck in fixing the problem. I am beyond bewildered. It has to be effecting our customers/making us look awful. Any further ideas?

Anyone's help is much appreciated! Thanks!

                  Hi there

Last thing to try, since the search also comes from the .fil files, i would suggest in going to into "Help | Troubleshooting | Website Purge and Refresh". Make sure "Delete .cat and.fil" is ticked, and then click on "Delete and Refresh".

                  Please see that.

                  Kind Regards

This is what I do when I have a site completely misbehaving -

go to the remote server from acatalog delete .html, .pl, .fil, .cat files and remove all scripts from cgi-bin

go to local Pc site1 delete all generated pl files ie 000001.pl, .cat, .fil

                    then refresh
