    Search Problem

    Hi,

    My Actinic site V7 has been working fine with no real issues for some time. However, I had never tested the quick search facility until now. When I use the quick search, all the products are displayed but the template format (smart) is lost.

    Any help appreciated.

    Search results are supposed to use the default Primary template set in Design | Options on the Layout tab. It may sort itself out if you go there and just re-select the same template as you currently have, then re-upload. Sometimes, these boxes remember things they are not meant to

      Bill,

      No luck. I have also checked NETQUOTEVAR:SIMPLESEARCH is above NETQUOTEVAR:FORMBEGIN.

      I have reloaded act_simplesearch from another directory and no change.

      The actual search works, just that I loose the store sections and images on the left and right toolbar of the smart layout.

      I believe it has always been like this, it is only now I have tested the quick search facility that I have noticed the problem.

      Any further help would be appreciated.

      Thanks.

        OK, not to worry - go to Design | Options and on the Layout tab, change your Default overall template to sidebars down the right side, Apply, then change back to sidebars down both sides and Apply and OK.

        Do a Web | Refresh Website and try it again.

            More Info.

            When I use the quick search for an item(s) I know exist. Then the format of the page is lost but the items are found. The URL used is:

            http://www.spaaccessory.co.uk/cgi-bi...21&ACTION.y=10

            If I search for an item which does not exist the format is not lost and I receive a message

            No Matching products found with no format lost and the URL is the same

            http://www.spaaccessory.co.uk/cgi-bi...21&ACTION.y=10

              Hi,

              I had the same problem when we updated our website templates yesterday.

              .Ticking 'actinic maintans search page' in view > Search settings sorted it for our site.

              Symptoms were exactly the same as the above, so that might work for you !

                Hi,

                I tried setting and resetting 'Actinic maintains search page'. The problem did not change.

                  Hi there

                  I see what happening, please can you go to "Design | Option | Layout" and click on "Edit" next to "Checkout Primary Template". Here make sure under the </TITLE> tag you have
                  Code:
                  <Actinic:BASEHREF VALUE="NETQUOTEVAR:BASEHREF"/>
                  From looking at your search page, it is missing and is needed so Actinic can find your images within the /acatalog/ folder.

                  Kind Regards

                    Hi Nadeem,

                    Done as suggested and

                    <Actinic:BASEHREF VALUE="NETQUOTEVAR:BASEHREF"/>

                    is there.

                    Any other suggestions please.

                      I agree that the line is there, but it reads...

                      <Actinic:BASEHREF VALUE="http://www.spaaccessory.co.uk/acatalog/>

                      It looks like the line is missing "/ at the end before the closing '>'. Could you check this in the template please. Ensure the line in the template reads:

                      <Actinic:BASEHREF VALUE="NETQUOTEVAR:BASEHREF"/>
