same products in different sections

Hi

We are building a shop for a customer of ours and they have provided a spreadsheet with all of their product data in it.

Now they have added in some products which appear in more than one section. Now they want to run the stock monitoring on the store and also, the duplicated products have different ref numbers. Now i guess if its easier to have the same ref numbers for each of the products, i can convince him to do this. but is it possible to set up the stock monitoring by importing the data?

We will be updating his site as well in the future by importing the data, will this casue other problems later on?

The ref numbers for duplicate items need to have the same base, but have a suffix added. Stock is added to, deducted from and monitored on the original item only. (i.e. sell one duplicate - one is deducted from the original product quantity, sell one original - one is deducted from original product quantity, add new stock - increase the original product quantity)

To see the format required, duplicate a product in Actinic and export the data. You will need to follow this format for your import to work.
