Actinic on my own webserver

Hi all,

I have been playing around with a webserver (running Windows server 2003 web edition, just for fun really. I managed to upload actinic to the server after a few hiccups.

I can view and use the website from within the LAN, with the exception of having to always add /index.html after the web ip, doing this makes it work just fine, but on a hosted actinic website I have you don't have to add the index.html, so how do I make this one jump straight to the home page when typing just the URL without index.html added?

Secondly, I can add things to the cart, and checkout with no problems WITHIN the LAN, but when I access the site from another PC OUTside the lan, I can only go as far as the index.html, but any other links come up with page cannot be found.

Please feel free to take a look at the site http://freshwood-crystals.no-ip.biz (don't forget to add index.html after the ".biz/ " part.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I was only doing this for fun, but now it's become serious!!!!!!!

Normal internet traffic is on port 80, you have this set up to listen on port 8084, but I was able to navigate the site and add item to basket, and go to checkout. You will find an order with test and testing all through it on your machine to delete.

Is there nothing that helps with the defaults in the setting up on IIS part of the Actinic Advanced guide help documentation? I know how to do this on Apache - but not Win platforms.

Yes the port is supposed to 8084, I have port 80 blocked by my ISP.

Did you manage to go through the site by normal methods, or did you bypass these?

I have looked throught IIS6 setup for actinic, but nothing was apparent!

I'll keep trying, it's one of those things, you try something out for fun, then it becomes an obsession!!!!

Well,

One problem down, thanks to you bill I have realised that the documents under the specific web folder pointed to default.asp, this has now been changed to index.html. so you no longer need to add index.html after the URL.

Just got to sort the other problem now, but bill managed to navigate through.....Mmmm the plot thickens!!

Just to confirm, now that you have sorted out the default page name, I get straight to the site using the link in post #1 and all the navigation links work fine for me (you'll have noticed I'm in Egypt).
