    Test Site

Is it possible to create a test site with Actinic, so you can run the live site and an 'in progress' version at the same time? I would like to be able to try out changing some things on my site, but as I am not very Actinic experienced I don't want to try them out and ruin the current site that I have.

I'm sure its easily done, I just can't see it

    Thanks
    Amy

If you dont have the developer license you can only upload to the 1 web address using the 1 copy of Catalog or Business.

You can use the trial hosting facility from Actnic - check out the main site for details - which would allow you to test drive the new site before going live.

There is an option within catalog to run in production mode and test mode.

Test mode creates a sub folder called Test for the 2nd copy of the acatalog folder, and it prefixes all cgi scripts with 9.

If you utilise this you should also keep a backup copy of site1 folder, so you can go back to the original site if you new stuff blows up in your face
