coupons - showing status

Couldnt find this in any existing postings - if using coupons that people can enter on the home page it would be great to let the visitor know that they have entered a coupon using text or graphic that gets 'switched on' and is visible on the pages somewhere.

Currently if you enter a coupon on the home page you dont know what it has done until reaching the cart. A client has brought this to my attention and it seems to make sense to me?

I will add this onto the wishlist, it is a good idea to show someone for a confirmation on coupon code entry.
