One button order with minimum quantity...

I have found something which might be a bug in the latest version or perhaps it is just me...

When you opt to have one button per page to add the items to cart (or hit enter) any products with a minimum purchase quantity have that value shown in the qty box, so when you select what you want to purchase everything else you don't want which has a minimum qty is also added to your cart. Unless you go through every product and enter zero at the ones you don't want, hassle...

You (the shopper) then need to remove these items in the cart page, danger is that say it was only one or a few items the shopper might buy them in error...

Any ideas folks?

I think it's a given that with one button per page the default quantity must be zero. The customer then inputs a number against the items he/she wants and presses the button. No other way it can work.

...and if you have products which require a minimum qty purchase William, you would suggest...? Just placing zero and ignoring this fundament...

Of course not, but minimum quantity on an item forces you to individual item add to cart buttons for those items.

Could I get a reply from somone in support please on how to update the templates to accomodate this?

When you use one button per page, the default quantity will always be zero, for the customer to add in what they want and then add to cart. There is no way you could change this I'm afraid, it is hardcoded within the application. I have even tried to set the quantity in "Design | Text", ID: 2173 to be of 0, but that removes the minimum quantity. I believe this is Work As Design, as this was never really factor, either you could use the one button per page, or the minimum quantity. But i will ask the development team for you. The bug may be you can only use one of these, so the other would be greyed out.

There is a solution;

In 'Design : Options' under the Shop Defaults tab set the default Shopping Mode of 'Single Add to Cart Button Per Page' toggled to the off / unselected position, this is Actinic default at installation. You now have one add to cart button for each product...

Then for each Section you want to manually select the ordering style for; in the Content Tree choose the 'Layout' tab and set the Shopping Mode 'Use Parent Settings' to the off / unselected position. Then select the This allows you to chose which sections you want to have a single add to cart button for...

All in theory this should work but since doing it A000.cat stalls the upload - probably unrelated and looking at the cause just now.
