lost my index

hi,

i was updating my site (pressed update) , a box came up with yes or no.
i pressed yes and it then it informed me that my index page was now overwritten!!!!!!!
i can't get it back even with dream weaver.
when i log on the internet, it is now just a blank actinic page.

any ideas??

The normal answer would be to replace it with whatever put it their in the first place.

I assume from the question though that you no longer have the original index page (or a backup?) in which case you're stuck with having to create it again.

If you're lucky, the page may be stored in the internet archive / wayback. Try looking here: http://www.archive.org/

If you have no luck with the resource Mike suggests, try tracking down your listing on Google. Your cached page should still be there, with a bit of luck!
