SHIPPING zones ??

Hi..

I am trying to set up the delivery costs for a site atm but cant seem to get the zones I have inputted to show up in the drop down box on the checkout.

This is returning a message saying....:

" Shipping And Handling

Shipping - The catalog shipping database does not have any shipping options defined for this location. Please contact us directly with your order. "


The customer wants to have a main UK shipping costs table and two others one for East Coast Scotland and one for the highlands & Islands. There is no international sales .

Can someone pls help with this?

Thanks for the reply...

I thought I had created the classes ....business settings/shipping and handling

I have selcted 'by class'

Created a class called 'next day delivery'

...then added 3 zones to this called 'UK' , 'East Coast Scotland' and 'Highlands & Islands'
These are the three different tariffs the client wants.

I have then added the weights/costs to each zone.

This is as far as I have got with it.

I Hope this clarifys my situation a bit better.

Did you create the new locations in Advanced | Locations first? You must have to be able to add them to your class.

You have ticked an option in View | Business Settings, Shipping and handling - calculation basis?

Hi Bill..

I have the calculation basis set on total weight....but I think im going wrong in the advanced location bit...can I post some screenshots of my advanced location setup and shipping setup for you to see. ?

Course you can - but you should have something like UK01 Mainland UK, UK02 East Coast Scotland, UK03 Highlands and Islands as your advanced locations - if that helps.

adding the UK01, 02, 03 did the trick and now I have my destination drop down menu on the checkout...thanks for that.

The problem I have now (sorry) ...is how do I add the 3 zones to the shipping/handling details so I can add the 3 different pricing tables..

From Help | Starter Guide

The white rectangle you can see in this tab contains the geographical shipping zones that
you are shipping to. A shipping zone is a group of countries. You can see the countries that
make up the default shipping zones by right-clicking on an existing shipping zone and
selecting 'Properties'.
To add a new zone, right-click and select 'New Zone'. Select countries from the right-hand
column and move them into the zone by pressing the '<' button.

use this technique to amend your existing UK zone, then add the two new zones.
