Iomega Backup Pro - "Unexpected DB Error"

Hi

Installed Iomega Backup Pro for use with an external USB Iomega portable hard drive. Running V.702 on XP Pro.

Set Iomega backup software to back up my Site1 folder as and when data changes.

Problem :-
After booting up, launching Actinic and commencing order download routine, I get the msg "Unexpected Database Error" and am unable to download any orders. I then Abort the process. Close Actinic (Without Backup) Restart Actinic and orders download OK.

I compact the database regularly and when closing Actinic, backup each time to the "Site1" folder. I understand there may be an issue here with mdb files being backed up but am not sure how to proceed in order to overcome this one.

I'm wondering if I simply change the Actinic Backup file folder to something other than Site 1 that this may sort the problem.

Any ideas on this would be appreciated.

Hi Andrew,

The problem could be due to the backup software using the .mdb file for a backup and leaving the file open, thus resulting in you not being able to download orders as the database would show up locked and un-accessable to Actinic to write the orders to.

What you could try doing would be to create a snapshot or Database backup every time you close Actinic and save that to a folder that you backup software can access. This will also give you 2 backup's of the database or the entire site if doing a snapshot.
