    Generating .cat files

Our site is suddenly having difficulties generating .cat files.
It is only generating a file with limited information and no product information.
I've deleted the .cat files in the Site folder and on the web - doesn't help
Purged .cat and .fil files - doesn't help
    Refreshed website - doesn't help
I'm having to make do with manually ftp'ing old .cat files to the server which iis fine until we need to add new products

Does anybody have any other ideas please?

Normally deleting the .cat and .fil from both site1 and the server does the trick.

      Hi Jo,

I appear to be abnormal this week as that didn't work, 'tis very odd. It just geberates the first line of the file and then gives up and thinks it's finished.

Try compacting the database. That may help eliminate any oddities that may have crept in.

Thanks Mike but I'd tried that as well without any luck.

Probably best to log a support call with actinic and get them to look at your database. This doesn't sound like a common problem and may need them to look at the details.

most likely caused by undeleted or unhidden products within a section that is itself deleted or hidden - .cat files are not generated correctly past the affected section

                Wow!

                Paul,

How on earth did you come with that solution.

It worked a treat and you've saved me weekend of frustration.

If you would like anything on our site let me know and I'll do it at cost.

                Thanks very much
