    CGI-Bin URL Error

Hi, Trying to upload to new 2003 web server and we keep getting stuck where actinic checks the CGI-bin loc.

Asking for the CGI-BIN URL. i've put in http://www.thedeepshop.co.uk/cgi-bin/ but get the url or path not found it says the web server returned a 404.

But if you use the url you get a 403 access denied.

    Server is 2003 with iis6.

    Any Ideas ?

    Best,
    Chris

    Hi,

Looks like the permissions on the server for the cgi-bin are incorrect. What happens when you do a test of the settings in Advanced | Network Setup? Do they pass, what sort of an error does it throw here?

    Kind regards,

        Hi,

Do yo have FTP Access to the server, try logging into you server and chcek the cgi-bin to see if there are any files in there, if there are, check the permissions. With a windows server you will need to get in touch with the hosting company to get permissons changed.

I would suggest you raise a support query so that someone from support can take a look at the settings for you. You can register a support query here http://www.actinic.co.uk/support/register.htm

        Kind regards,

Some servers do not have the cgi-bin folder actually created - may be worth actually checking on the server using an FTP program to see if it is there - if not simply create a new directory and see if that sorts it......

Hi yes i've checked the CGI-Bin folder is there.

Its one of our dedicated web servers so we have full Remote desktop accesss to it.

It appears as though it cant fins the .pl file.

The files are there in the test script that it loads but you just can't open it.

I get a 404 file not found trying to open it.
