    Surcharge not Passing to Worldpay

    I recall raising this issue with support before and did not receive any resolution to the problem...

    Issue : Surcharge is levied in Actinic but not passed to Worldpay, sometimes.

    We have a transaction from 31st August which should have carried a surcharge for using a credit card, this is a rule based upon Order Level with restrictions via Payment Method and indeed when imported into Sage the correct payment type is shown in the 'notes' of the invoice and this concurs with the Payment Method shown in Actinic's completed orders archive.

    However from the order email (which we get a copy of) the convenience fee is shown but in the Actinic archive there is no convenience fee shown, which relates to what WorldPay have been asked to charge the card...

    This seems to happen only on higher value orders, this one was £3k...

    I have looked at the possibility of a client selecting a "non surcharged" payment method such as debit card and then using their credit card, we have this set via two WorldPay accounts with card types restricted so it isn't that...

    Also wondered if you could select a "non surcharged" payment method in Actinic and then click back to the refresh page or payment choice page but a new order number is created and therefore that isn't it either as the PSP references no longer tally and a PSP Pending file would be present.

    Why just high value? There are no conflicting rules or restrictions...

    I can't see why this would happen either as a deliberate hack or innocent clutz finding a hole, wondering if there could be something in the code for surcharges which stops at a certain value... as I have found before in other sections...

      What version of 7 are you on? Is it still 7.0.1 EGSA? We will need a snapshot of the site to be able to work on the issue. Can you contact me ofline and send me a link to download the snapshot.

                Bruce,

                I've just had another order notified to me where the surcharge / discount rule has failed despite qualification.

                On 12th - 14th August we had a 10% discount weekend and the order KT17PG00000367 didn't get their discount applied.

                  We have tried your snapshot on a 7.0.5 site and the issue is not reproducable. The configuration is fine and we cannot see anything that can cause the problem.

                    OK but there's been two failures of what would appear to be the discounts module though, once in the surcharge for WorldPay and the other in the weekend discount promotion... so it is happening and I've shown you the evidence.

                      We are too, it is evidently happening and can see the proof as you say and we have tried to work a Hack to get around it , but have not been able to as we do not know what is causing the random failure.

                        If it's happening to me it could be happening to others and they just have not noticed.

                          Did the order not get any discounts/surcharges or was only the Weekend
                          discount missing?

                          Were there any other orders over the same weekend that received and if so,
                          did the they get the Weekend discount?

                            If you look at the snapshot there's about another four or five orders in that weekend, each line of each order has the discount applied apart from this one...

                            No other rules applieds to these orders.
