Is NETQUOTEVAR:ALTERNATETEXT meaningless when referenced from the Act_ProductLine.html template?

As an experiment, I deleted NETQUOTEVAR:PRODUCTIMAGE from the Act_ProductLine.html template and replaced it with the content of the Act_ProductImage.html file (minus the comments).

I expected this to have no effect however I found that everything remained the same EXCEPT for the ALT text which came out as "NETQUOTEVAR:ALTERNATETEXT" when I hovered over the product image.

Are there any differences with respect to the above between versions 6 and 7 of Catalog?

Since NETQUOTEVAR:ALTERNATETEXT is just the product name, you could use NETQUOTEVAR:PRODUCTNAME instead.
