    Minimum Order

    Hello all,
I want to set a minimum order to my wholesale jewellery site www.iluvm.co.uk but to order customer have to register which is quite common with wholesale sites. But the customer registration is set up the same as an item in the shop but with a price of £0.00. If I set minimum order to £50.00, when someone tries to register as a customer then the minimum order warning is displayed and ask customer to put items up to the value of £50.00
Is there some way of excluding this item from the £50 minimum order? or is there a better way of setting this up? I bought this site with a business so did not set it up so I am not up with Actinic at the moment.
    Regards

Think the minimum order enforcement is not bypassable (is there such a word), for a single product, so if you want to continue to enforce this, then the only way I see is to create your own form submission for account applications and the like, using some form processing solution instead.

I managed to add the "register for a wholesale account" to the cart and then proceed through to checkout and then to the receipt page without the £50.00 min error stopping me. As the cart is at zero value it bypassed the payment page (obviously) - scraan grab of receipt page attached.

Not a very elegant way and much better to use a simple application / feedback form as suggested above

        Minimum order

Sorry I forgot to add that at moment the minimum order is set to £0.00 or new customers would not be able to register. That why Jont could register.

Would suggest then going for a custom form solution to cover your needs.

Plenty out there and not too heavy on the learning curve if you have not installed one before, as many (especially the paid for solutions) come with indepth instructions on how to achieve what you are after, with the free ones providing instructions, but when you hit a wall, takes a while to get the assistance from them (if at all) that you need, but that all said, most can be installed just from the tips loaded into the scripts comments at the top.

If you use a custom form, then you can control it 100%, possibly even gaining perceptional value to boot along the way as opposed to adhok'ing a buy button in the site - just me 2 pennies worth.

Check out http://www.hotscripts.com/PHP/Script...ors/index.html for a list of free scripts - most come with working examples and lots of annotation on how to modify things but do require a bit of effort.

May also be worth checking with your host as most sites already come complete with a basic mailform script.
