complete mess up with new upload

I have tried to upload my new website and all that appears on the site is the following:-

Warning: main(home.html): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/local/home/httpd/vhtdocs/mustardcards.com/index.php on line 11

Warning: main(home.html): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/local/home/httpd/vhtdocs/mustardcards.com/index.php on line 11

Warning: main(): Failed opening 'home.html' for inclusion (include_path='') in /usr/local/home/httpd/vhtdocs/mustardcards.com/index.php on line 11

    www.mustardcards.com

What have I done? Please help a very frustrated person!

There has recently been a similar thread - it was down to a change at the server - the index page has been corrupted / moved or has a redirect on there which is causing the error. The site is still there ... eg http://www.mustardcards.com/acatalog/sitemap.html but people cannot get past the homepage.

Connect to the server using an FTP program and rename index.php to say index_temp.php ... then upload the site again... that should upload index.htm into the site root which will allow people in.

Once up and running again you may want to check out the "404 page not found error" - at the moment if someone tries to access a page that is not there - either it has been renamed and a search engine still has it listed or if the user enters a typo your site is being forwarded on to UK Searcher! Very bad news. Search these forums for advice on a 404 page error to redirect missing page requests to say the sitemap.html page so people are still on your site and can find what they are looking for.

Can I ask who you are hosting with?

LOL - we keep typing at the same time.

start a new document in Notepad and enter

                ErrorDocument 404 /acatalog/sitemap.html

save as .htaccess - note the period at the start and FTP that into the same place you just renamed index.php and that should redirect to the sitemap for page not found errors
