    Link from Sage Errors

    Hi all,

I am trying to update my stock levels from Sage into Actinic, I have set up link correctly and go to import sage data in Actinic.

After trying to import I get the following errors in the errorlog file:

Line 2: An invalid Product could not be imported.
Line 2: The short description of the product must not be blank.
Line 3: An invalid Product could not be imported.
Line 3: The short description of the product must not be blank.
Line 4: An invalid Product could not be imported.
Line 4: The short description of the product must not be blank.
Line 5: An invalid Product could not be imported.
Line 5: The short description of the product must not be blank.
Line 6: An invalid Product could not be imported.
Line 6: The short description of the product must not be blank.
Line 7: An invalid Product could not be imported.
Line 7: The short description of the product must not be blank.
Line 8: An invalid Product could not be imported.
Line 8: The short description of the product must not be blank.
Line 9: An invalid Product could not be imported.
Line 9: The short description of the product must not be blank.
Line 10: An invalid Product could not be imported.
Line 10: The short description of the product must not be blank.
Line 11: An invalid Product could not be imported.
Line 11: The short description of the product must not be blank.
The problem is this is just a selction, it does it for all 6000 products except for the first one! I have checked and every product has a short description.
    Any ideas??

    (I'm using Actinic V7.0.4.0.0.0.FEVA and Link V2.1.3)

    Hi,

Are you sure you followed the guide and mapped the fileds correctly. You can get a copy of the Link Starter guide here .. http://downloads.actinic.com/docs/us...s/Link_GSG.pdf

OK, I have got it to work properly now. I have another problem though:

In sage we have approx 12000 products, some of these are for our own installation use and one-offs.
On the webshop, we have about 3000 products.
If i do an update it still imports a lot of these products that I have deleted and no longer want.
Additionally I have also changed the prodcut descriptions in actinic so they are more user freindly and readable to the customer. If i do a product update it changes all the product descriptions back to the (our unfreindly) sage descriptions.
I only really want to do a prodcut update just to ammend prices after they have been changed within sage.

Is there any way round this??

      - I wondered if I put my description in the "web description" field in sage and then clicked the transfer products using sage web data fields radio button would it work? This may be a way round but would mean about 8 hours of data work?!!?!?

      Thanks for reading my ramblings

        Hi,

You have hit the nail on the head there, you will have to update the "web description" field in sage to be able to retain your more user friendly descriptions.

To prevent the update from bringing in the unwanted products you will have to purge them from teh sage DB.

        Kind regards,
