    Setting up an affiliate site

My company (Company X) has just entered into an associate or affiliate sales agreement with a company (Company Y) that uses Actinic for their online order processing and stock control. We'll be selling their products off our website, in return for a commission on sales generated.

When a customer orders a product on our Company X site, the idea is that the actual sale will be processed by Company Y, their account credited with the credit card payment, and their stock levels automatically updated. At the same time, sales originating from our site must be allocated a special code (so that our commission can be calculated), and we must receive a copy of the online invoice generated for the customer, so that we have an independent record of every sale made through our site. But the checkout windows that the customer sees, must look as far as possible like our site (Company X), not theirs (Company Y).

I'm completely new to Actinic, and Company Y has only limited in-house computer skills, so they're not able to help us much with the technical aspects of getting this all working (although they are quite prepared to make any necessary changes to their system to facilitate things).

    My questions are:

Has anyone here done anything similar? It would be very helpful to see an online example of this kind if setup in operation.

Are there any consultants or third party developers who could help us get up and running?

Any feedback at all would be much appreciated.

    Hi,

I would suggest you download a copy of the Advanced Users Guide from here.. http://www.actinic.co.uk/support/downloads.htm

On page 73 you will find a topic that deals with supporting an affiliate program with Actinic Ecommerce. If you do a search with the word 'Affiliate' on the forum you will come up with several other threads that discuss this topic.

    Kind regards,
