Hi,
We are now having a list of problems with Actinic, and wondered if anyone else had come across any of these - or if the developers on here have any suggestions. To set the scene, we have been using various versions of Actinic for about 5 years, the website contains around 5000 products plus n times more components/attributes, and we have compacted the database recently. We have also kept up to date with the upgrades, and are currently running 7.0.5. We do not do anything else custom ourselves with the Actinic database.
The problems we are having:
1. Most recently, and most urgently needing fixed, when we upgraded to 7.0.5 we were required to do a full site refresh - when we attempted this, Actinic started the process but then just stopped part way through. It eventually signalled that it was 'Not Responding', Task Manager confirmed this. So, I restarted Actinic and tried again - the same thing happened, and is continuing to happen so we cannot update our website. Actinic does not crash on the same file each time, and I cannot see a link to suggest why it is crashing.
2. When we copy a product and attempt to then paste it into another or the same category, Actinic intermittently crashes (I would say about 70% of the time). This was brought up with Actinic support, who told us that it was because we were using the Automatic Product Reference numbering, and we should do this manually. To be honest, this is not a satisfactory fix as we find the automatic generation of product references very useful, and we don't really care what the numbers are so have no need to do it manually.
3. When an order is downloaded with Payment Pending, and then subsequently the Payment is received and downloaded Actinic used to automatically move the Order from the Payment Pending tab window into the Received Orders window. This is no longer the case, when this situation occurs the Order is not moved into the correct tab until we physically look at the Payment Pending window (the order disappears from here), and then click back into the Received orders window (the order now appears here).
4. Actinic intermittently crashes when moving between the various Order tab windows (around 20% of the time).
5. Actinic now intermittently crashes when doing other tasks within the Products section - eg. adding an extended info page. This is not so frequent, but does happen.
Basically, these are the main problems, but it is making it increasinly frustrating to use Actinic and if they continue then unfortunately it will be near impossible. If one of the developers or support are able to help, then I can forward any information required.
I look forward to your much needed help (especially to try and get our new products uploaded).
Cheers,
Stuart
