Increase in Royal Mail Postal Rates

Just to let everyone know, we have heard that:

Royal Mail are increasing their prices on 8th May 2003

The main points relating to these new prices are as follows:

There will be an increase of 1p on basic letter prices for items weighing up to 60g.

The price of an ordinary first class letter will increase to 28p while the new rate for 2nd class will be 20p.

The cost of special delivery will increase to £3.75 for items weighing up to 100g (an increase of 10p).

Recorded delivery will go up by 1p to 64p - plus the cost of first class postage (depending on the weight).

You can obtain the new price lists from your local post office, or if you want know the easy way you can check their web site (link below), although it appears that they have not updated yet!

Just when you thought you had P&P covered - they do this !!!

    Thanks for that Kerri,
I knew there was an increase but couldn't find out about it on their site.
Will have to pop to the Post office and get the leaflet.
Like you said, just got the postage sorted, and will need to update it all now.

    cheers

      Thanks Kerri

I've been aware this has been on the cards, but have not yet seen the numbers.

I will produce a new shipping import file for first and second class post in the next week.
