    Transfering discounts from Sage

We are using Actinic Business version 7.0.5, have just upgraded Actinic link to latest version and Sage line 50 version 12.

The retail prices, discount prices and quantity discounts being set up by my marketing department in Sage. They want me to have displayed on screen on the web site the Retail price, Discounted price and any quantity discount for each product for non loged in customers.

I can upload the retail price OK. However I can NOT get the discounted price and quantity discount to show for non logged in customers or logged for that matter.

    Hi,

Do you mean that the discounts are not being transferred from Sage or they are just not being uploaded to the server?

The discount matrix appears to transfer as a customer price list, but I what to show - retail price £xx.xx, discounted (or our) price £xx.xx, 3 or more £xx.xx for example. For non- logged in customers.

I've just added 'how to transfer across quantity-dependent pricing for non-logged-in customers' to the Sage Link help file. Let me copy it here for you...

What if I want my retail customers to use quantity-dependent pricing?

Usually, any quantity-dependent pricing structures in Sage will be transferred into Actinic as a non-retail customer group. In other words, customers would have to log into the Actinic store in order to have access to these prices. However, it is possible to allow all your retail customers to view quantity-dependent prices, without them having to log in. To do this:

        1. If you are using 'Discount A' as your quantity-dependent pricing group for retail customers, you first of all have to ensure that at least one Sage customer has 'Discount A' selected within the 'Additional Disc' field in the 'Defaults' tab. Also, this customer must not be using any other method of discount (e.g. price list). This is to ensure that a customer group will be created within Actinic with the name of 'Qty A'.

        2. Then in Actinic, go to 'View | Customer Groups' and rename 'Retail' to 'Qty A'.

        3. Then in the 'What is the Base Schedule Name for Actinic?' field within the 'Discounts' tab in Actinic Link, ensure that you enter 'Qty A' rather than 'Retail'.

        4. Next, you need to ensure that the 'Sales Price' of all your products within Sage has exactly the same value as the first row ('Level 1') in the 'Discount | Discount A' tab of your products.

        5. Finally, when you transfer your data from Sage Line 50 to Actinic, make sure that you transfer customers as well as products.

All retail customers within Actinic will then see the 'Discount A' prices as their standard prices, without them having to log into the store.

Hello Chris, that works well for the quantity discounts greater than one and I thank you. However it is not picking up the fact that level one discount is for quantity one. So the web site is now showing the suggested selling price, the quantity discount but not the single discounted price. Any ideas?

            Hi there

Please Check the checkbox "Against each product" in "View | Discounts and surcharges Setting | Miscellaneous". This will display the 'cart contents' discounting details next to each product.

See Link help text page "The 'Discounts' Tab" at the bottom of page the
part "If I want my retail customers to use quantity-dependent pricing?" point 4.
"In other words if a user decides to use 'Discount A' in Sage Line 50 for their Actinic quantity dependent 'Retail' prices, then the 'Sales price' of each product must be manually set in Line 50 to be the same as the price for quantity 1 in the 'Discount A' tab of the product.

            Kind Regards

              Hi,

I was wondering if anyone found a solution to this problem? I too am working on a site which is linked to sage. I want to apply discounts using sage but not to logged in customers - it seems i can have quantity discounts on products or customer specific discounts (price list) using Actinic Link but for some reason not just a straight forward 20% off discount for a particular product??

The person posting this seems to want the same as me but i dont know if it was ever answered?

I don't really get the last solution as if the sage line 50 sales price is set to say £15.00, then you have to apply a quantity of more than '1' in the discount tab which i dont want. I just want to show retail price and discounted price.

Even if it can't be done or you gave up, if you can let me know so i can possibly look at other solutions?

              Thanks in advance,
              Nikki
