Hi
I have a problem with setting up a login & customer accounts. I'm not sure if this problem is caused by the way I have the shipping set up...
I needed to set up various zones for shipping around the UK, eg. mainland uk is free and other places like northern ireland, etc are charged.
To get the shipping to work I had to add 6 'States/Provinces' to the UK in the Advanced|Locations. Then in View|Business Settings|Shipping & Handling I set up a cost for each zone.
This works great, so far so good.
However, I now need to add a login to this site and make it so that the prices would only be visible to the customers who had logged in (previously the login had been removed).
So, I firstly set up a 2nd customer group and went into a couple of products (just to test it) and unticked 'enable' on the 'retail' customer group.
Then I add the login button in Design|Options|Navigation.
Then I add a new customer account in View|Customer Accounts. I complete all the the details including the address (also, having to select a 'State' from the drop down box) and make sure both boxes 'Valid as invoice address' & 'valid as delivery address' are ticked, then I click 'ok' - then I get an error, that says:
"Warning: This customer account has incomplete or invalid information. It will not be uploaded in its current state.
If you would like to correct the errors now, please click 'Yes'.
If you would like to close this dialog, please click, 'No'
Zone 6 - All other areas in Mainland UK is used in Payment but is not selected for any Shipping zone.
This account has no valid delivery addresses defined."
I have played around with a few things, like if I remove the 2nd customer group, it works fine. - But then I can't show prices only when logged in - or can I?
Also I'm not sure if the 'State' will be listed on the address - I assume it will, so I need to know how to remove this.
Or, if I keep the 2nd customer group and instead go through and delete all the 'States' and add them all as countries, this works too, however with this method in the 'Customer accounts' I have to select a different country ie 'UK Mainland' and this comes up on the invoice. All I want it to say is 'United Kingdom'.
Would really appreciate some help on this as I don't understand why the delivery address is not valid when I have a 2nd Customer group?
Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree?
Thanks
Nicola
