Pecentage Discount off one Product when Buying a Different Product

Is there a way of having discounts set up so that if buy one product, you get a percentage of another kind of product?

For example, if someone were to buy a computer, could you set it up so that they would get 10% off the monitor or keyboard if they bought it at the same time, but not 10% off the actual computer?

I'm sure it's easily done, but I'm having a thick moment and can't work it out.

    Cheers

    Hi Amy,

Suppose you could create a group for the products, so group all 3 items together, then apply the discount ability to this group, where they get 10% off the cheapest item when 2 or more are added to the cart, but it would mean grouping such like products together, and the products in 1 group can not be used in a second group (or was when I last looked at this in Actinic), so if you wanted to use it again and again with different group'd offers, then you would need lots of copies of those products, which makes it difficult (unless this has been resolved in recent patches for the software that is)..

      Yay, there we go

Right I am really dumb. It's is pretty easy (although it still doesn't work for me, because my products need to be involved in more than one discount at a time and that isn't possible).

You would put the computer in one Product Group, hell lets got nuts and called it 'computer', then put monitors and keyboards etc into another product group which I'll call 'peripherals'.

Discounts and Surchage Settings > Cart Contents tab

Create a new discount group called '10% off when bought with a computer".

On the General tab, in the Properties section, check 'Enable' 'Based on Value Exculding Tax'. The trigger would be the value of you cheapest computer. Select product group as 'computer'.

In the Rewards section on the same tab, choose reward type '% off extra product' then set the award amount to 10, for 10%. Select 'peripherals' as the product group for this section, apply and you're done.

Now if anyone else is too lazy to work it out, its here
