Help! Actinic to Sage Link - I'm rapidly loosing hair

Has anyone any ideas or seen this problem before.

When exporting orders from Actinic v7 to Sage Line 50, link hangs. It produces the CSV files OK but when executing the .exe it hangs on the "Transfering orders into Sage" screen with zero showing on the progress bar. It appears to be having problems creating the customer account as if I tell it to use an existing Sage account and not create a new one it works fine.

[The Actinic Link manual confuses me here as it says "Default Customer Ref (only shown if you have chosen to not create new customers within Sage)" yet I can't complete a profile without putting a customer name in this field?]

Sage Check Data reports no errors. I then Re-Indexed and compressed the data but this did not fix it. I tried the same link profile with another companies Sage data and it imported fine including creating the customer.

Yesterday I exported the Sage customer base to csv, cleared all the accounts with in Sage and re-imported them from csv. The Actinic Link then works fine but this is not really a solution as it means loosing all the transaction history for the customers.

I've spoken with Sage again today and suprisingly they don't seem keen to fleece me of £595 for data repair claiming that if check data and re-indexing hasn't fixed it they doubt there is anything wrong with my data.

    So, to re-cap
Have tried Actinic v7.0.2 and v7.0.5
Have tried Sage v8.2 and v12 with new link
Sage Check Data shows no errors
Have Re-Indexed and Compressed Sage files
Link profile works with another set of Sage data of similar size
Link works provided it is an existing customer
Link works if all customers are removed, then reimported minus history.

I've lost 3 complete days (and a couple of long nights) on this now so would be seriously grateful for all and any help. Thanks in advance.
