Table background clr

How do you override the table background colours palette1bg.gif/palette2bg.gif in act_Primary.html...I couldnt see anything in Design/Options which would allow me to do that...do I just take it out in the code..
Also what is the function of the templates act_BrochureNavImage.html...?
