not remembering me!

My REMEMBER ME seems to have given up the ghost.
Had a few customers say that their details are not remembered when they have ticked the box, and my own test echoes this.
Have checked that its not a full cache, or a case of automatically cleared cookies/cache.
Any ideas?
Is there any way I could have switched this function off by accident?

Hi,

The Remember Me option is being displayed on the site, so it you have not changed any settings or switched it off. Please ignore test order BKNORE00006603. I then returned to the site and the remember me function did not work. It works perfectly fine on a default site however.

Can you try doing a complete refresh of the site and then let me know if it still poses the same problem.

Just completed a full site refresh and tried a test order myself.
Its still not remembering details into a second order.

How long have you had your checkout on shared SSL?

I wonder if it could be because the 'remember be' cookie will be coming from https://clarahost.clara.net/www.mega...in/os000000.pl

Though I tried a test order (backed out before payment) and it definitely remembered the address I entered when I went back in again.

The checkout has always been on shared SSL.
Clara have moved around some servers recently, but this problem stems from fair way back before then.
Problem has been around for quite some time, although I'm sure it used to work originally.
When you say it remembered you, have you tried actually closing the browser, then starting again?
It shouldn't be necessary to go all the way through to final checkout to test, but if you did want to try a full checkout, simply use 'TEST' in all fields, and select 'payment by mail' which will allow you to leave the credit card detail fields at default settings (will go through even though some fileds say compulsary).

I haven't changed any perl, but have edited checkout templates to add in extra text. I know Remember me works with cookies, but not sure how its recognised within the software. Is there anything within the checkout templates I should check? You mention that the cookie may be set from SSL server - is there any way I can test this? If you know how the cookie is named, I can try deleting it from my computer, and checking that it resets after I place an order.

Maybe its worth trying to delete some of files from the site, and allowing a refresh to upload again (have already done a complete refresh today). If thats worth a go, then please advise which files I should delete, and from where, and spell out any cautions.
