Is there any way to insure that the content tree always opens & closes the same way?

When I close every night & do my site backup, it seems like it always opens back up the next day in a chaotic pattern of sections & subsections opened too.

Is it opening in the state of the last snapshot or?

Since I have over 300 products now it would be wonderful there was something I could do.
