If it adds to the cart, but the cart is empty the next time you look then it may because you have cookies disabled.

Steve, if you have added a New Product to a page, and input the image, description and price information, then click on that product (a little green box in the actinic contents tree) and look on each tab till you find a box called shopping mode.

Decide whether you want a list of products (you will have to add each one as a New Product) with one buy button per page, or an individual buy button for each product and make the appropriate choice in the shopping mode box.

That will add all the required shopping cart buttons to your page. Clicking those buttons on a live site will invoke a cgi/perl script which will add the item to the cart. You cannot do this offline unless you have your PC set up to run a local server.

          Thanks a million...
I have set up my PC running Appache, Perl and ftp..so its fine..
I guess I am a bit confused about the shopping mode where it says use Parent...
You see I have a Section and a subsection...do I need to set that for each sub section as well as for the section, or can i set it up globally for the section and then use Parent for the sub section?
And what settings do I need to do in Design/Options and Business settings that will affect the Add to Cart box..
          cheers

Sections | Subsections - will inherit from the settings in Design | Options UNLESS you choose to select a different option at the local level. If you change a section and subsection is set to Use Parent, it will also change from the standard.

Cart setup in Design Options - attached screen capture of my own settings.

View | Business settings - you need to set up the Tax and Shipping and Handling tabs - there is guidance on doing this in the online help.
