    old templates are getting generated

i have just changed my templates for a new version of our site, mainly act_primary.html.

But when i refresh the site, half of the pages have the old template with product links that do not work, some use another template I was testing and some have the new one...

In my site1 folder I have a file called act_primary.html, my new template and a couple of older ones with changed filenames e.g. act_primaryOLD.html, act_primary222222222.html, act_primaryyyyyyyyyy.html, would these other ones affect the site reresh and get included somehow??????

The only files that should affect your site are the ones you reference in the overall layout tabs on your site pages. Just check every page to see what template it is using (don't forget the Design | Options - Layout tab) and correct any wrong references.

      thanks for the reply

thanks but no joy, i checked and they all point to the site1 folder which is correct, they only go funny when i do a full refresh, and it is only on the different sections...

if i do a normal upload they seem to render correctly??? but when I do a nornal upload the search results page gives a parse error at the price section? but if i do a site refresh the price issue works fine, but the original problem then arises, so you can see, if I do an upload the pages are fine apart from the search part, but if i do a refresh the search part is fine but the pages are dodgy???

I cannot understand where it is grabbing this older version of act_primary.html on certain pages only on a refresh??? i have removed the older versions from the site1 folder, so i am baffled, there must be something else happening that i am missing!

      any thoughts???????

        Hi

just a possable, when you changed the primary did you mess with any of the table borders containing the bulk, because i had exactly this problem when i started i commented the class thin border wrongly and thus had no table frame around the bulk this caused allsorts of problems when viewing i dont know why but when i constrained the bulk within a table frame again(invisable) problems solved...

          hi

cheers for the reply, i will give it a whirl... i am not sure what you mean by bulk though??? i did change most of the tables and inserted my own css styles for the borders, so you may be on to something, can you explain a little further what you mean though....

          cheers

when i wrongly commented the cells that contains netquotevars bulk and body (main cell where your products appear) when loading this seemed to allow the contents to corrupt alot of other things on the site ie: i had long since used and deleted an old theme but there it was back again at least some elements of it, you should be able to see if this is the problem in any visual editor make sure these items are contained within a cell.

This sounds similar to a problem I had a while ago. Check out the following thread: http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=13053

When I followed Post #2's advice - my problems were sorted.

              Hope that helps,
