    customer account

    i have 2 payment options on my site; one is for protx, the other is payment on account....

    What I need to do is only have payment on account as an option on the checkout for all customer accounts that have been set up, but, unregistered users have the protx option, but at the moment all cusotmers accounts get a drop down box with both options, how do i remove protx for customer accounts, because all customer accounts will never use protx????

    Hi,

    If you open one of your customer accounts you will find 'Payment Method' since you have 2 payment options you will be able to use the drop down to select between PROTX and payment on account, if you select 'payment on account' and click on Apply and then do an update of the site, the account will only be able to use the selected payment method.

    If you have a lot of customer accounts, I would suggest you use the File | Export facility and select 'Customer accounts' this will create a .csv file, you can amend the 'Payment Method' column to reflect the method of choice, save and reimport.

      cheers for the reply but i have done that and it does not work??? i actually tried this before posting the message, because it seems the logical thing to do..

      I have been in the drop down box and chose payment on account and apply, then a rebuild and still the same problem, also, it gives protx first even though I changed the order of the list in the payment options applet in actinic? I also made the payment on account option for just registered users and this does not show up unless someone has logged in, but when I want it the other way around, nothing????

        Hi,

        Have tried it again on a default site with PROTX and invoice with order as the payment methods. Invoice with order restricted to customer accounts. Protx is first and invoice with order is second on the list of payment methods. When I log in and checkout, the drop down is obviously there as there are no restrictions to customer accounts and they can see all available methods, but the first option on the drop down is 'Invoice with Orders' not PROTX. Can you try clearing your cookies and then trying the site again?
