    Bulk Input Of New Products

We have just taken on a load of new products about 250, what I need to do is get them into actinic quickly.

Ive done the flat file import from aspreadsheet which works fine but we use the linking to external database feature (access db) to maintain the catalouge and so have to recreate the products in access.

Then we have to push the products into the relavent sections.

The question is does anyone know a good way to get a lot of products into catalouge quickly and simply. This could be a third party product suggestions required.

Make a flat file import with the minimum amount of detail - so section details, product reference and anything else that either

    a) you are forced to enter - you will get an error when you try to import the details if an essential field is missing
    b) you do not store on the external database

Then import the flat file, this will give you products without detail but in the right place in the catalog.

Then put the products into your external database.

Then refresh linking and the details should be filled in - you need to check the box on the external linking dialog called 'Link all products to external database if avaialble' to get this to work.

That should do it I think.
