    "Don't allow excess"

Am I right in thinking that if you set the Excess setting to "Don't allow excess" with Total Weight as the calculation basis, and a customer adds more to the basket than the limit (30kg in this case), a message should be displayed?

I've set up a store as above, with UK 1st class weight bands/prices up to 30kg, but if you go over 30kg worth of goods, not only is no message displayed, but no shipping is added either. Everything is normal up to 30kg.

This store is at http://www.everythingairbrush.com/ and the heaviest product is a compressor, at 6kg.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Hi Malcolm,

Just tried your site and added 6 of the compresors to the basket and the checkout threw the error message as it should.

    Kind regards,

I ask the question what happens after 30Kgs?

You could then send as two parcels and set the excess to the maximum price for 30Kgs to cover the cost of the additional parcel.

Then again you could use another carrier and use their rates by using a new zone and class.
