    SSL Query - Unsecure items

    Hi guys,

we've just had the SSL certificate installed for our site and all appears OK accept on the checkout pages (we have SSL set for only checkout pages) we get messages about unsecure items.

I've compressed the html/CGI so there are no references to local items. There are references to http files, could this be causing the problem? I have tried loading the pages with and without the unsecure items and don't see anything missing!!

    Any help much appreciated

It could be lots of things such as an image for a stats program or counter, etc.

Can you show us the site so we can take a look?

      Hi Mike,

site address is www.fastfacts.com, click on the Bookstore button to access the shop.

I've not added any external items like counters or even the SSL Thawte logo yet so it's not that. The only thing I can see are the links at the bottom which have http addresses.

      Thanks

      Ruth

Managed to register and get through to the end receipt page without any errors .. when adding a product (very hard to find where the products are at) I go through to the Worldpay page which reported a merchant error ... but no SSL errors to that point ... that was using FireFox

I can't seem to find the secure checkout. Is there a particular route I need to go for SSL?

Mmmmm, we seem to have taken a step backwards somewhere. There's several domains pointing to this site and for some reason the products are going through to a non SSL domain - was working OK last night!

I'll have a look now & come back in a minute when I've sussed it!!!!

Right, now everything has been reloaded it is all back to using SSL & goes through to Worldpay but I still get these pesky usecure errors.

              Thanks guys

There seems to be some flash embedded in the page that's coming from a non-secure page. That looks the most likely culprit to me.

                  Hi Mike,

I wondered about that but if you chose not to load the offending items it was still loading? I'll try taking it out and see what happens!
