    Links on section pages

    Hi

I have created a section and on this page I have added html links under the title to go directly to a sub-section. What I would now like to do is to disconnect the link from the title. If I alter the preview page it creates a clone.

The idea is to reduce the number of clicks to get to a section.

    I hope this makes sense

This site is under construction with a holding page but I could redirect if required.

    Can you explain this.......

did you realise the preview pages are just that. Preveiw pages.

You need to edit the ACT pages. Act pages generate preview pages.

It would help if we could see the site....

      Hi

      Thanks Jo for your reply.

I did not realise the previews were just that although now you have explained it seems obvious.

Its all quite new to me and i've a lot to learn.

At present the site shows an under construction page by the host but I will change this shortly so that you can view the shop at www.local4.co.uk/acatalog. If I use the brochure page index as it is there is the link to the shop that I do not want to show until the design is sorted. (I've just got this feeling that you are shaking your head and I should be doing that differently).

The original problem was to remove the links from a section heading after creating links using html under these headings. Perhaps we could look at this when you can see the site.

      Again thanks for your help.

        Hi

The site can now be seen at www.local4.co.uk/acatalog.

If you click on 'shirley of Hollwood' you appear at a page with the links to subsections. Under the headings I have put in links using html that go to the relevent sections which works well but what I don't want is the image or the heading links. Is it possible to remove these but still keep the html links I have created. Or should I be doing the whole thing differently.

        Hope this makes sense.

        Cheers

Try going to the 'Layout' tab of each of those sections and under the 'Section Link Layout' field, select 'Name and description only - no image'.

That will get rid of the image and just show the name and description. If you want to get rid of the name as well, click the 'Edit' button and replace

          NETQUOTEVAR:SECTIONNAME

          with

          <!-- NETQUOTEVAR:SECTIONNAME -->

I would suggest getting hold of the 'Designing With Actinic Developer' guide (link is in my signature) for a general introduction to design.
