My site won't 'merge' anymore

I have successfully been testing my new site until now. I made a lot of changes to the sections and am now trying to upload the changes. I continually get the message below:

"Actinic received a network error while merging files on the server. Try again later and contact your network administrator if the problem persists. The server returned an invalid or unrecognized response"

I have tried compacting the database, refreshing the site and even deleting everything manually by ftp and then refreshing.

Can anyone help please - I don't want to have to go back to my yesterdays backup (done lots of work today!!)

Hi Duncan,

Go into Advanced | Network Setup and run a test, if it passes, then go into Help | Troubleshooting and click on 'Web Site Purge and Refresh'. If the Network Test does not pass, I would suggest getting in touch with your Hosting company to see if there is an issue their end.

Thanks Bruce - it seems i've been working too hard today.
I just realized that I changed my webspace cgi-bin without updating the network settings in Actinic.

Obvious, but I overlooked it. Thanks.
