Are '3 for 2' offers possible?

Hi, I’m using Actinic business 5.1.6.0.0.33

Is there a way I can setup actinic so that if a customer places three items in the basket, the item with the lowest value is free?

We want to do this as a limited time offer.

Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

If you are running business you can use quantity price breaks to offer a 3 for 2 discount.

I can see how this works if they are buying three of the same items. Is it possible that the lowest value item of three different items is free? (Have I missed something?)

You can sort of do this by adding a non optional component that links to another product, use the other product to determine the pricing and put quantity price breaks in that product. It is much easier to do this with V7 though.
