    Trouble uploading site

    Hi There,

I set up a site for a client a couple of months ago that is only just going live, when I originally set it up it all tested fine, connection was stable, no problems uploading etc. Now recently when my client has finished adding to the catalogue and we came to upload it we started getting a lot of problems.

The host did mention that they found some permissions issues which they apparently fixed, but I'm still having fairly consistent connection problems with messages saying that permissions were incorrect, it would then try and change permissions, fail and then suggest using http instead of ftp which would work for a few more files then usually fail with a server reset error message.

Since then I'm now getting a different file checksum error message which happens during the file merge stage of the upload. I'm really concerned as to what is causing this and wonder whther its a local actinic issue, local router issue or a server issue.

    Any suggestions appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Mike

    Hi Mike

Have you tried the test in 'Advanced | Network setup' window, is anything reported?

If you are using a later version of version 7, please try this..... If not it may be worth upgrading to 7.0.5. Make sure if you take this route you make full backups.

Go to 'Advanced | Network setup' and make sure 'Use Enhanced FTP' is selected. Next click on the 'FTP Options' button and set the values as follows:

    'Client Timeout' to '15000'
    'Connection Timeout' to '25000'
    'Silent Running' checked
    'Maximum retries' to '50'
    'Retry delay' to '3000'

Then try and upload, if that fails try going to 'Web | Refresh website' if there are still problems try toggling the 'Use Passive FTP' checkbox on 'Advanced | Network setup'.
