Basically my customer gets this message when attempting upload / download:
and here is his response to the stuff we've tried already:
Any ideas anyone? I'm drawing a blank now so any help appreciated!

when I go to download new orders I get the message "the system cannot find the file specified"

Thanks for investigating, but that didn't work. After I turned off Intrusion Detection I tried a download and still got the message "the system cannot find the file specified." I then tried a Refresh, and the error msg was "unable to connect to the FTP server... etc". I get the same when I try Advanced/Network Setup/Test.
The only thing that works is to type in ftp://ftp.the... etc in IE and then do a download, which then works fine. When I then did an upload, though, it worked but uploaded all the .pl / .pm / .cat / .html / .php files, which takes quite a while. I've just done another download, so the connection is still OK this morning.
It looks to me (though of course I don't understand how these things work) that my computer somehow loses its connection to the FTP server and has to be prompted by me manually. I did check with the host company the first time this happened and they said everything was fine their end.
Incidentally, I've noticed in the Tiscali Broadband window that I'm constantly sending 55 bytes per second (sometimes 110) - is that normal or should I be worried?? = 1 packet per second.
