    uploading site

I have tried uploading the site with the wizard within actinic - it is timing out half way through and not giving me any error messages it just hangs and the program comes up as not responding. If I ftp the details external to actinic what exactly do I need to upload besides the site 1 folder?

    Appreciate any ideas or advice..

    Hi Lee,

you can't FTP outside of Actinic as it compiles the pages on the fly during upload. Are you using Enhanced FTP under Advanced | Network setup as this cures most issues ... you can also change the time out setting under FTP Options on the same screen.

May also be just a server issue if they are doing maintenance or if it is particularly busy period

      uploading trial version

Completly forgot the fact this is an evaluation version as I am only testing the site - however I do want to see how it will work online.
On the help it says if you are using a trial version you will notice that alot of the options are greyed out however mine are not!?

How do I go about uploading it to actinic trial site they mentioned in the help?

Check out the main Actinic site www.actinic.co.uk and there should be a link through to the trial space there

          last question...

Am a bit concerned that I will have as much trouble with my live site?
Is it only because this is a trial version that I am having so much difficulty?

          Thx

The trial version is extensibly the same as the full version.

What problems are you particularly experiencing? Is it just the upload or other things as well? Configuring the network settings is a common stumbling block if the host is not set up out of the box to be compatible with Actinic but most can be sorted once their settings are known - search the forum for your host name to check for any known issues or workarounds.

Once the settings are sorted that should be it (unless the host change something) and it is a case of just adding and uploading new products and downloading orders
