    How to add navigation to...

I would like to have the standard navigation (NETQUOTEVAR:TOPLEVELSECTIONSTOP) included on pages such as search, sitemap, contact, terms and conds etc. How can I do this? It seems Actinic strips the navigation out of the templates for these pages, is the only way to do this by hard coding them? (I hope not - I have over 60 sections that may change)

After digging through forum messages I'm still unclear. Can someone please clarify this for me.

Also - if I used the js method of navigation would this have the same issue?

    TIA

Jont, Thanks but not what I'm after - I'm refering to section navigation on the left hand side, not the top nav bar.

        Duncan,
I too would like to know the answer to this too. I'm not sure why Actinic doesnt display the code NETQUOTEVAR:TOPLEVELSECTIONSTOP since many of the pages that you mention use the 'Act Primary' template that the index and general cart pages use. The code is not stripped out as such as the variable just doesnt work. This is strange because other Netquote Vars such as the NETQUOTEVAR:SIMPLESEARCH seem to function ok.

If you find the answer then plaeas post it as will I.

Sorry to bump this but I have been looking around and I see that many many Actinic shops have the same left hand section menu on almost all their pages including T&C, search and contacts etc.

Surely their must be an way to achieve NETQUOTEVAR:TOPLEVELSECTIONSTOP in these other pages without hardcoding?

          TIA

give us an example of a site that you would like to emulate please.

I suspect they are using the individual NQVs

A typical example would be this site, linked from the Actinic.co.uk website:

              http://www.trampolines4fun.co.uk/

The LHS navigation is across most of the site.

Here's a couple more sites that have the LHS navigation across most of the pages:

                http://www.acaseofexcellence.com
                http://www.earthanimal.com

                  Hi,

What layout/theme are you using on the site? If it is a clean layout, then TOPLEVELSECTIONSTOP will not work, you can however use the javascript method detailed in the Advanced Users Guide and that will work over all pages. The functions of the NQV variables are limited to cetrain templates / areas of the site which is not the same for the javascript.

                  Kind regards,

If we want to avoid the javascript route and decide to hardcode instead, how do we hardcode the search page?

It is simple enough to hardcode the checkout pages using ACT_PRIMARY_CHECKOUT, but I can't find a way of doing it with the search pages...?

Here's the new site, as you can see the section list is there on all pages except the search (results) page...

                      John,

In v7 you will have to use the javascript route as the normal NETQUOTEVAR's will not work on that page.

                      Kind regards,
