    Button Making

    Hello,
Is there an easy way to make some nice looking buttons other than the standard actinic ones I've been using?
I added some pages and created some new buttons to match existing buttons in paint by literally cut and pasting letters out of existing buttons, then creating the letters I had missing. But this was a tedious, time consuming task. Since then I have changed sites colours and the old navigation seems to look out of place.
Are their any good packages to create some good nav buttons or an easier way of creating buttons?
    Any advice greatly appreciated.
    Regards
    Rob

Photoshop is the daddy but very expensive for just buttom making. Fireworks is great and integrates well into Dreamweaver if you have it - again not cheap.

Check out open source GIMP which is a Photoshop clone and you should also check out the various computer magazines as these often have free versions of commercial software available - often the previous versions to entice you to buy the new release. PaintShop Pro is common and does all photo editing but also XSARA (spelling?) is available and comes with a wealth of pre-designed button templates for quick and easy button creation

      Thank you Jont,
I have Jasc Paint Shop pro so will look at that, I did have the Gimp before but it conflicted with something so deleted it. Will look at that properly.

        Rob,

try here, this has loads of nice buttons and will create the menu for you, all you have to do is cut and paste the code or the whole menu table, or you can create a menu using DreamWeavers menu function.

Select the advamced optio to change button colour, text colour, button size etc....

        Hope it helps.

I found a couple on some freeware in a magazine.

The one I use which is nice and easy is called DeKnop. There is probably a trial download somewhere.

Once you have finalised what you want you just list the text for them all and it sticks it on the button. It also creates up buttons and down buttons for you.
