    Volume shipping again ...

I know it's been discussed in many threads but I didn't find any answer to the problem ... My client is selling art products so it can go from sculptures to prints. Quantity and weight shipping are not good solutions for us, I've tried nearly everything I could think about and still can't find a way to do that volume shipping using Actinic's options ...

So is there a way to do volume shipping in Actinic or not ... ? Did anybody find a way to solve this problem ?

Or is it still in the wishlist of the development team and will be a feature in the next version... ?

    Thanks for your answers

    Regards

Shipping by weight offers the most "flexibility" at the moment - by carefully setting the weights of the volume products and the shipping tables accordingly you can make a workable solution - not perfect but workable - and it does take some attention and care in setting up.

Hopefully the ability to combine shipping models will be resolved in future releases

      Nanouchman,

That is one that is on the wish list at the moment and one being considered for a future release. Will add your request to the list.

I'm posting here not to create a new subject and because it is related to my shipping problem ...

So about the shipping tables that are available to download (http://www.actinicdownloads.com/shipping.htm). They don't seem to be up to date (last update on 23/03/05) and I know that, for example, Parcelforce changed their prices in September 2005.

So are these shipping tables an Actinic "product"? If yes it would be great if the update can be done

Then is there a table somewhere for TNT? Can't find it ...

Thanks a lot for your answers

        Regards

          Nanouchman,

Shipping tables have been updated on teh website with effect 08.11.2005

We do not have an import file for TNT at the moment. It would be a wish list item and I have added your request there. You could probably create a table based on information you could get from TNT and then import it into Actinic.

          Kind regards,

Another issue with shipping (hope it's the last one ... ).

I've set up shipping tables by value and it works fine ... well not completely in fact!

For UK and Europe it's allright because we have good prices with Parcelforce (same price whatever the weight is, up to 30kg).
Unfortunately, it's not working for International (USA, Canada, etc ...).

So would it be possible to have a button on the checkout page like 'Get a quote' if you are from USA etc ...
The button (or link) would bring the customer to a web form with his details etc ... that would send us an email saying that Customer XX would like a quote about shipping for X and Y items.
But according to Actinic support, there's no way to send the information of what is in the shopping cart to a web form ...

Did anybody try something like that ?

I know, I like to make things complicated ... but I'm not that far from having a fair pricing for our customers for shipping ...

Thanks to those who will reply and try to understand the problem

Seems like nobody is brave enough here

Let's see that from another point of view ...
How did you guys have configured your International shipping prices ... ?

Prices are sooooo different from a country to another one ... Did you use weight, value ?

                Thanks for any support
