    Completed Orders

Is it possible to backup the completed orders onto a cd or something? and take them off the completed orders tab in the order section of actinic?

    #2
    Hi,

You can make a backup of Actinic or make a snapshot of the site and save it to a CD, the snapshot will contain details of all the orders. You will find it in the Database ( ActinicCatalog.mdb). You can then delete the orders from the completed Tab.

Else you can go to Business Settings | Order Processing and select 'Enable Export to Files', You can then select the orders in the completed tab and by right clicking select 'Re-Export to Files' and that will the take them off the tab. You will find 5 .csv files Orders, Persons, Orderlines,Payments and Buyers that are created in your Site1 folder. Please note that while using this method you will have to copy this information over to another location or rename the files in Business Settings | Order Processing as with each succesive export the 5 files will be overwritten.

    Kind regards,

Its handy to have orders in `completed` to refer back to. How many orders would it be `safe` to keep there, and would the catalog run noticably better with (almost) all completed orders cleared?

        thanks i'll try that.

we have about 1000 orders at the moment, its my boss who wants to know if we can do it.

We keep a file with all the print outs of completed orders anyway
