Using Actinic V7.x.x and the Best Seller theme.

Is there a way to change the flat colour used in the background to a gradient e.g. dark > light > dark (chrome effect) other than creating replacement gifs with the same name? I have done this and it does work but changing the text or the colour of the text on the button means redoing each file.

Not quite sure which part you are trying to change but HTML can oly display flat colours - if you are wanting gradients (chrome effect) these will need to be added in as a GIF or PNG files.

The image and text over the buttons could be easily controlled using CSS with the images set as image-background and the text colour set accordingly - that wuold also reduce page overhead
