    Importing Updates

Hi Guys - I wonder if you can help please

We want to put our site live, but still add sections.

Obviously we dont want to import a whole new site after we get the live one going, is there a way of merging catalogue sections created on Actinic remotely into a current live site say from a CSV file or similar - maybe

    Many Thanks.

That's exactly what Import / Update does. Only new (or changed) items get included.

So if you have an import file containing only new sections and products you can add them to an existing site.

Thank You for your reply, Can I ask whats the easiest method pls

We tend to do snapshots of the site, does the updated sections have to be in a csv file or will another snapshot file being imported do the same thing.

I'm just trying to get the process clear in my mind. Thank You

A Snapshot replaces the entire site and is mainly intended for backup / restore functions and moving a site to a different computer.

In the scenario you describe in your original post you'd have to have an Import csv file containing only the new Sections(s).

There is nothing, of course, to stop you manually adding sections and products into your existing sites Content Tree.
