Formatting Search Results Page

Hi,

I am looking to format the search results page so that results are displayed in rows, with 3 items per row. I assumed that this could be achieved by repeating code within Act_ResultTemplate.html (similar to creating repeating groups within the product body) but this only duplicates the results.

I know I can achieve a similar result by using some javascript but does anyone know of a simpler method?
