    Basehref problems

    Hi,

    I believe I'm having odd problems with Zone Alarm blocking content and occasionally clearing the basket.

    One possibility aggravating this is my homepage basehref seems to show up as https instead of http (http://www.venus365.co.uk).

    But I cannot figure out why that should be... any ideas anyone?

    Strange one this. I haven't seen it before.

    The only thing I can think of is to check that your settings are:

    SSL on: Ticked
    Checkout pages only: ticked

    and that on your network setup make sure you don't have https entered for your website url.

      I've double checked - 'SSL on' is ticked as is 'Checkout only'. In network settings under the Standard tab it's all http...

      ...but under the SSL tab, the Catalog URL is https://www.venus365.co.uk/acatalog/ and the CGI-Bin URL is https://www.venus365.co.uk/cgi-bin/

      should this be just http in the SSL tab?

        Not sure. Mine is set uip the same as yours and looking at the page just now I see my basehref also says https.

        Sounds like an actinic bug. If only the checkout pages are on SSL then why is the basehref for the home page showing as https?

        I'm reluctant to change the SSL catalog url as I assume this is used to reference the secure images on the pages.

        Maybe actinic could advise.

          Do teh problems with Zone Alarm still persist? I am checking on the https status of the BASEHREF links, will post back.

            Just checked your site again and the source on the catalog pages, it shows <Actinic:BASEHREF VALUE="http://www.venus365.co.uk/acatalog/"/></Actinic:BASEHREF> which is as it should be. Did you do anything to make the change? I could not replicate the https issue on my end.

              Sorry for not replying previously Bruce - I just cleared my cache/cookies and tried again but I still get...

              However I think my problems with Zone Alarm were down to 1) the lack of a P3P policy, 2) Zone Alarm doesn't like image links in new browser window to a different web address (our link to safebuy/trust uk) 3) Zone Alarm doesn't like images from a 3rd party website (our live help active/not-active gif).

              So I'll put the basehref down to odd but not necessarily a problem!

                I was wrong - I still have the Zone Alarm problem of emtying my Checkout unless Zone Alarms 'Block 3rd Party Cookies' is unchecked

                This problem can be seen in two ways; if I add one item to the basket and then go to Checkout, it will empty, or if I add one item and then go and add a second item, the Basket will clear the first added item.

                This problem only happens if the entry URL is either www.venus365.com or www.venus365.co.uk

                Would I be right in assuming that the only reason for this will be a basehref problem?

                Home page basehref shows as...
                <Actinic:BASEHREF VALUE="https://www.venus365.co.uk/" FORCED=1/></Actinic:BASEHREF>

                Catalogue/View Basket pages show as...
                <Actinic:BASEHREF VALUE="http://www.venus365.co.uk/acatalog/"/></Actinic:BASEHREF>

                Checkout basehref shows as...
                <BASE HREF="https://www.venus365.co.uk/acatalog/"></Actinic:BASEHREF>

                We use SSL when entering the Checkout only.

                Checking around other Actinic sites that use SSL in the Checkout only, it seems they often don't have the Actinic basehref on their home page and in these sites Zone Alarm does not clear the Checkout.

                Would there be other complications if I deleted...

                ...from the brochureprimary template?

                  I can only see the https links in the BASEHREF on the checkout pages, all other pages show me a http link, have confirmed that on 5 other PC's here. The products add to cart correctly and there is no loss of line items on adding additional items. Have noticed that you seem to have 2 instances of the BASEHREF on the Brochure page.. looks like this...

                  I would suggest deleting the first instance that is commented out. You will require the BASEHREF in the brochure pages, for the secure server to bounce correctly.

                  Try deleting the extra BASEHREF instance and then let me know if you are still facing the problem.
