I have recently set up a new site that uses WorldPay as the payments provider. But I've noticed that the product description is blank on the email sent to the customer by WorldPay.
Thanks Bruce, but that didn't really help. WorldPay sends out a confirmation email to the customer. In that email, the description field is blank. It may be that this is by design since the customer may have purchased more than one item and WorldPay only takes the full transaction value.
That is correct, the product description is not passed to Worldpay or any other Payment Service Provider for a matter of fact. The requirements for the PSP to process the payment are the order number, order value and customer address information. The call back from the PSP will tie in with the order once downloaded and display the line items that were ordered.
Passing the product description to the PSP is a wish list item and I can ad your vote to the list. The basic issue would be as to what Form Field name will or can be recognised by the PSP server to display the required information..

Does anyone know if this issue has ever been resolved? I use worldpay on our site and it would be so much more convenient if the product description was included in the email that I receive from worldpay to let me know a sale has been processed.
Alternatively is there a way I can set the site to automatically email us directly with the purchase details once the sale is complete?
I think I'm probably overlooking something simple here!
Put your email address there and you'll get a copy of the receipt.
Note though, that you'll only get one if the customer returns to your site after payment and views the receipt page. Thats what triggers the receipt emails.
Quite a lot of people dont return... you'll have to put a note in asking them to make sure to clck 'return to merchant' on the psp pay page.
