Strange Error Message Whilst Updating - Please help!

What on earth have I done this time?!

I have bought a new computer, and loaded Actinic (version 7) onto it, the website has been running now for a year. When I tried to update this evening for the first time since moving it to this computer, I get this message:

    Title: WU PayCash Configuration Control

Error Message: C:\ProgramFiles\Actinicv7\Sites\Site1\CommonOCC\Output\OccProcessor.fil contains an invalid path

    PLEASE HELP ME!!

Not that it may be any great help, but when something out of the blue rears its ugly head and you have done nothing at all, it is almost 100% of the time, to do with your hosting company having changed somet their end.

They may have migrated or moved or done something to affect this. Speak to them as your first point of contact and confirm nothing has been done their end.

    Good luck

      Hi Angela

You need to use Windows Explorer to go into the 'Actinic v7\Sites\Site1\CommonOCC' folder and manually create a folder within that called 'Output'. That will fix it.

        Thank you :-)

Thank you for your help - that has worked a treat and the site has uploaded the changes now. However, I have looked on the internet at my site, and the format is completely different to how it was two weeks ago! I'm not complaining as it looks great now, but how did that happen? There's also no add to cart button by each product, so nobody can actually buy anything!!!!!!!!! What's going on?

Post the address of your site so we can see what's wrong.

The Add to Cart is there but is unfortunately a microscopic single green pixel about 1cm below the "P" of Price. Try hard with a steady hand and you'll actually be able to click it!

If you tell us exactly how you "moved" your old Actinic system to the new machine that may help a lot.

              How I Moved The Software!

              Hi

Thanks for your help! The address is www.happylittlemonkeys.co.uk

The database was backed up on the old pc, then the OH used the box CD to install it on the new machine. He then copied the backup.mdb from a CD into My Documents on the new machine. He then used the Import Wizard (hierarchical). And Bob's Your Uncle (or so we thought!).

I'm surprised that worked in any way. The usual way(s) to move Actinic from one system to another are.

                1) Actinic recommended way. Make a Snapshot on old system (File Snapshot / Export Site). Install Actinic (same version on new system). On new system do File / Snapshot / Import Site and that's that. You may have some manual work to do if you kept images, etc outside of the Site1 folder.

                2) Alternative way (if Snapshot fails). On old system copy / paste all of Housekeeping / Security into a text file - save this in Site1. Copy all of Site1 to CD, thumb drive, whatever (or use LAN in next step). Install Actinic (same version on new system). On new system replace Site1 with other systems Site1. On new system go to Housekeeping / Security and paste in the info from the textfile you made earlier.

PS the Actinic Help under Snapshot will tell you more.
